Ingredient: spinach
A member of the beet family, these leaves are typically mild, tender and grow very fast. When cooked they shrink down to 25% of their original size! Folic acid (folate found in supplements) was first taken from spinach.
Storage Tips
Store in the refrigerator. Make sure to remove rubber bands and ties. Greens will store longer dry (instead of wet or damp).
Preparation Tips
Rinse or soak in water to remove soil or grit. You may need to do this multiple times. Farm fresh food may contain critters so this is one more reason to rinse them before preparing.
