Part of the cabbage family, radishes grow underground and come in various colors, such as red, white, purple, black, etc. There is even a watermelon radish, which is green on the outside and red on the inside. Most of the radish’s peppery flavor is found in its skin.
Storage Tips
Store radishes and their green tops separately in the refrigerator. You can eat both. Make sure to remove rubber bands and ties.
Preparation Tips
Rinse them (greens too!) under running water before you enjoy! Scrub to remove any soil and debris. Clean skins are safe to eat.
