Green onions, also known as scallions, are onions that are harvested before they form the large onion bulb. There are also varieties that never form bulbs at all. They are in the same family as onions, shallots, garlic leeks and chives.

Store in the refrigerator. Make sure to remove rubber bands and ties.

Rinse them under running water before you enjoy! Remove root end before eating.
