Ingredient: butternut squash
The squash family also includes cucumbers and melons. There are some winter squashes that can reach up to 300lbs! These are grown in the fall but can last in storage throughout the winter due to their tough skins.
Storage Tips
Store in a cool, dark place, such as the pantry. Some may store for 2-3 months! Cut or prepared produce should be stored in the refrigerator.
Preparation Tips
Rinse them under running water before you enjoy! Scrub to remove any soil and debris. Cutting large squash can be challenging. The skin can also be removed with a vegetable peeler. Be careful!
